Overall it is bright and happy place to rest short or long term or use as base for touring exciting Hoi An. The Homestay is perfectly located and an easy bicycle ride or even walk to Old Town or Cua Dai Beach. It is located a few minutes walk to Ba Le markets - the real deal! It is also an easy bicycle ride to nearby paddy fields and fishing villages...

I really cannot begin to describe or put into words how much I enjoyed my stay at Joy Hoi An Homestay. I was advised to stay there by another couple who had extended their original stay from two days to one week, as I ended up doing and as other are doing currently. This place is seriously good. It is very reasonably priced and, for westerners of course it is cheap to to sleep. Too cheap for what you get! Apart from being modern and clean it has such a friendly and humble family as hosts who go out of their way to welcome you and provide wonderful breakfasts and other snacks from time to time. I had impromptu dinners of shellfish, noodles and herbs, some of which are picked freshly from the garden. These meals were typically Vietnamese and an experience I will not forget. [Read more ...]

We booked 3 nights at this Homestay and we decide to stay 3 extra nights... Son and his family are fantastic, awesome people and they make you feel at home. Everything was perfect...The rooms are very clean with all the comforts and great location halfway between town and the beaches. One night we had Vietnamese dinner with Son's family and all the guests....It was great!!! We travel a lot and believe me, it's hard to find places like this for the price you pay.... I strongly recommend this homestay.... You are not going to be disappointed.

I can't express enough satisfaction with our stay at Son's! We are traveling for a month through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand and by far, Son's place is our favorite hands down. It's quiet, spotless, comfortable and close to everything, a short walk or bike ride (which are provided for you) to the beach and the old town. We where picked up at the airport by Son's driver, and dropped off too for cheaper than taxi. When we arrived to the homestay we were warmly greeted by Son and his amazing, lovely, sweet and funny assistant Dung who along with his amazing, lovely sweet and funny wife took care of us, fed us delicious and authentic Vietnamese breakfast every morning, things that I have never had that where new to my palate. We enjoyed our stay so much, that we rescheduled our flight to Hanoi just to stay one more day with Son and family. [Read more ...]

Made to feel very welcome. The listing is exactly as per the photos. The neighbourhood is good, very convenient... an easy walk (or cycle... bicycles are available to guests at no extra charge) into the historic centre of Hoi An.
The room was very comfortable with a nice big bed, plenty of space in the room and bathroom. Bathroom facilities worked well. Room opens to a little balcony, which was nice. The breakfast which was included was a great way to start the day (prepared by the awesome Dung et al)! Our host, Son, put on a huge BBQ for all of the guests one evening which was very nice and hospitable of him! It was also a good way to meet some of the other guests who were staying.

Joy Hoi An was the perfect place to stay in Hoi An and Son and his family were incredible hosts. On our very late arrival Son invited us to share a bottle of wine with him and another guest, followed by tea. On our third and final day his wife treated us to a delicious home cooked lunch just before we had to leave for the airport. Moreover, breakfast prepared for us was a huge feast - all we had to do was decide what we wanted the night before. The room was gorgeous with a massive terrace/balcony attached, and the free use of bikes made getting into the old city only a pleasant 8 minute cycle away. Furthermore, the bikes were great to explore the nearby fisherman's village and beaches.

"Great value and service, the best in Vietnam"
My family stayed here in the triple room with huge balcony, it was spotless and super comfortable beds. The best thing was the hospitality of Mr Son and his family, we felt very welcome and they went out of their way to help us with booking train tickets. The shared family BBQ was Amazing, as was the breakfasts, which you preorder each day from a list of choices. The location means you get a good bike ride each day, but really not far, and bikes are free. We also recommend the yoga and vegetarian restaurant on the road into the old town, called Amman, I think. Overall the best place we stayed and NYE in Hoi An was awesome. Joy homestay has only been open 4 months and I think they will do very well.

We stayed for 2 nights and had the best experience. Son is the most amazing host - so warm and humorous. He welcomes guests into the family and even invited us to have wine with him and a traditional barbecue dinner with his family. Our bed was huge and very comfortable. Lovely clean room with private en suite bathroom. The house has 5 bedrooms 7 bathrooms so there is enough for everyone! Son organised a private driver to and from the airport and his wife even packed us breakfast when we left at 5 am to catch an early flight. There are also bicycles free to use. Most warm, welcoming hosts recommended for those looking for an authentic Vietnamese home to experience. Hoi An too is a lovely quaint town.
Stayed December 2014, traveled as a couple

With so many options in Hoi An, we were luck to find this gem on Airbnb. It is a short distance from the center of town, but it is refreshing to have a little distance from the tourist hustle. Our host Son was gracious enough to provide bikes free of charge. The room was immaculate - simple yet super clean and comfortable (a big step above comparably priced rooms that I have stayed in Vietnam). Fresh breakfast was prepared daily, and Son, his wife and her assistant went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable every step of the way. They even prepared a BBQ dinner on our last evening in Hoi An with the whole family!!! After traveling nearly a month in Vietnam, this has been the best accommodations hands-down. Would highly recommend, and cant wait to come back. Stayed December 2014, traveled with friends.

I highly recommend this home stay experience, especially for those who are seeking an authentic Vietnamese cultural experience while enjoying top-notch service in a flawlessly clean and quite room. Son and his family were the among the most welcoming people I have ever met. While the accommodation is slightly outside of the hustle and bustle of the touristy area of Hoi An, Son provided bicycles free of charge, and the 800 meter ride to the center of town was easy and refreshing. The room was immaculately cleaned, and Son and his staff seemed to go to any length to ensure that our stay was comfortable and relaxing. [Read more ...]

“Heerlijke plek!” Super fijn guesthouse!!

Son was a very nice host! He got his driver to drive us to his place and back to the airport. He speaks English very well so we had no problem with communicating with him. When we checked in, he prepared noodle soup for us. He helped us rent a motorbike so that we could go around on our own. He was very hands on with everything, as he personally made us breakfast on our last day before heading to the airport. The photos were very accurate and the room was so clean. It was spacious, and we even had a huge balcony where we could hang out. The area is quiet and you'll definitely not have a problem going to sleep. Yet it is located just a few minutes away (bike ride) from the main street where you could find all the restaurants, shops, etc.. We highly recommend his place and would definitely stay with him again next time we're in Hoi An!
(Miss. Zoe Lim )
Our favourite place in Vietnam by far!! The rooms were extremely clean, modern and comfortable with great views. The owners and staff were the nicest people and always willing to help! Each day we participated in "homestay" activities like making traditional Vietnamese sweet soup and pancakes. On our last night, we also had a huge BBQ with shishkabobs, fish, the homemade pancakes and rice wine... It was one of the best meals we've had on our trip! We felt like we were staying in a 5 star hotel as well as with a traditional Vietnamese family and the price was comparable (if not cheaper!) than other homestays in the area and included the most delicious breakfasts :) would definitely recommend this place to everyone whether you are a backpacker, couple or family! Thank you Son for the wonderful stay!!

I stayed in this homestay on 25/09/2014. Excellent, the room is new, clean with good smelling. Great like 4 star hotel but with affordable price. Totally satisfied.

Just checked into Joy Homestay. It's so beautiful and smells like new cabinetry and from the balcony I can see chickens...Friendly staff, very lovely rooms, fantastic breakfasts. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Hoian.
